Dan was in orchestra with me. Him and that huge bass, me with my violin. I sat in the first violin section. My memory of Dan was he was just a really nice guy. Laid back. Played a mean bass. Outside of orchestra he was also in my homeroom class. I really never truly got to know him well despite those two opportunities to connect but I will always remember he was just kind hearted. Never heard him speak badly about anyone nor being mean as some of the more popular kids could be. Was sad to learn he had passed. Would have been great to connect on Facebook and swap memories of Mr.Garrett Grant who was a part of my music journey since 4th grade and I suspect Dan's as well. He was an amazing teacher and orchestra class was where one could truly be yourself and kick back and get into music of all genre. Rest in peace Dan.
